Tech News MacBook Air with the Apple M2 fleck, colourful system potential to start in 2022 |
Apple’s MacBook Air with new colors and the Apple M2 chip is
being tipped to launch in the first half of 2022. According to reports, Apple
is currently testing multiple prototypes of this next-generation MacBook Air.
One of the main changes in the new MacBook Air is going to be under the hood
with the new M-series chip. On the outside, Apple is expected to make things
exciting by offering the laptop in different colors. Besides this, it is also
being tipped that Apple might bring in a new low-end MacBook Pro and a new Mac
Pro in 2022.
The tipster who goes by the name @dylandkt on Twitter shared
that the Apple M2 SoC is “on track” to make its debut in the first half of 2022
along with the new colorful MacBook Air. The new MacBook Air devices are
expected to come in the same colors Apple introduced on the iMac in April this
year. Going by that, we can expect to see the 2022 MacBook Air in Green,
Orange, Yellow, Pink, Purple, Blue, and Silver.
According to the tipster, the Apple M2 chip is going to be
built on the same foundation as Apple’s next-gen A15, and it is going to come
with a significantly improved performance scope. Apple introduced the M1 chip
as a part of its silicon transition last year. A successor to the M1 chip, the
M1X, might also make its debut later this year, ahead of the M2 next year.
Bloomberg’s Mark German had reported that Apple would
introduce its high-end, redesigned MacBook Air by the end of 2021, and it was
going to come with the successor to the M1 processor. The successor to the M1
has been codenamed Staten and promises faster computing cores than what Apple
brought in with the M1. However, the new chip is expected to have the same
number of cores.
Besides this a new chip and new colors, there might be more
coming in with the new MacBook Airs. Analyst Ming-Chi Kuo reported that Apple
may use mini-LED displays on the 2022 MacBook Air models. However, it is
unclear if this new display tech will be limited to high-end models or be
available across the lineup.
